Growing Disciples to Change the World
Whoever you are, wherever you're from, you are welcome here.
Concord Road's youth group is a place where 6-12th grade students can come to know, love, and serve God. In all things, we strive to help develop our young people into lifelong disciples. We provide many opportunities to help our teens grow closer to God and thereby each other. We are growing as a family and we would love for you to join us. You belong here!
In addition to our regular Bible studies on Sundays @10:30am and Wednesdays at 7pm, our group participates in a variety of other events throughout the year check out our events below. Even better we’d love for you to come visit us and see what this amazing family of teens is doing for the Lord.

Effort Is the Key
Reflecting back on my childhood, I had various coaches in various sports. There was one reoccurring thing that each of those coaches tried to instill in me. The lesson they were trying to teach me was much larger than any sport that I was playing. The lesson they were trying to instill in me was a life lesson that would make all the difference in all areas of my life. All of coaches that I had growing up pushed that effort was going to be the driving factor that made all the difference. In a lot of the contexts they were referencing either practice or game time, but that lesson has spanned way farther than any event or game I participated in. There was one statement that stuck with me through my childhood and even now as an adult. I heard this often, only you can decide the effort you put in. I was taught that no matter the age, circumstance, location, time, and other factors that were out of my control, I could always control the amount of effort that I put in to be successful. What an incredible life lesson that was instilled into me by these various coaches. This lesson rings true not only in the realm of sports, but into all aspects of life.
We all have certain areas that we know need improvement in our lives. For some it is in our individual walk with God. For others, it may be a relationship that needs to be improved with another individual. For others, it may be time to improve in their career and the list can go on and on. Truth be told, we all have the capability to make improvements in any area of our lives. It comes down to this one simple question, how much effort are you willing to put in? Sometimes we tend to take the easy road and when a lot of effort is required, we spend time and energy trying to figure out how to do it easier. If we are serious about making improvements in these various aspects of our lives, we must become committed to putting in the maximum amount of effort to accomplish the goal or task at hand.
This is not just a good idea, but it is also a Biblical principal. We are ambassadors of Christ and the life we live shows others in the world what it means to follow Jesus. If we are always looking to take the easy route or if we are lazy about becoming the best in all aspects of life, people may get the unintentional message that following Jesus is something that should not require much effort. Jesus Calls us to die to ourselves and strive to grow to look more like Jesus everyday, and that is going to take a lot of effort. So just like my coaches helped me remember, only we get to decide the amount of effort we put in. My prayer is that we will all become an ambassador that shows the world we are more than conquers.
