Why You Won't Surrender Control to God
Surrendering control to God starts with seeing where you resist him without knowing it.
You pray. You attend worship. You read your Bible. You believe in God. One habit sits beneath it all, and you don't see it. You need to be in control.
This video is for you if you serve faithfully and still feel the pull to run your own life.
In this Monday Motivation, you trace the need for control back to Genesis 3:1-6. Adam and Eve had every provision and full fellowship with God. They still chose their own judgment over his command. Timothy Keller names this pattern in Counterfeit Gods. You repeat it in smaller ways every week.
Test three examples against your own life:
You ask God to bless decisions you already made.
You obey God until obedience costs you comfort.
You confuse responsibility with control.
Then you work through Scripture. Proverbs 3:5-7 gives you three phrases to study: trust in the Lord with all your heart, do not lean on your own understanding, and do not be wise in your own eyes. James 4:13-17 shows you why tomorrow does not belong to you. Luke 9:23 tells you to deny yourself and take up your cross daily.
Planning is not sin. Anxiety is not proof of rebellion. The danger starts when your peace depends on every plan working out, and you never hand those plans to God.
Many people treat Christianity as a transaction. They do a few right things and expect the blessings they want. God does not operate this way. He does not ask you to understand everything he is doing. He asks you to trust him enough to follow what he has revealed.
One question runs through this video. If God's will for your life conflicts with what you want, whose will wins?
Your challenge this week:
Name one area where you insist on your own way.
Compare it to what God has revealed in Scripture.
Where you find disobedience, repent and change course.
Words of trust cost nothing. Obedience proves trust.
Watch to the end. Then answer in the comments: which area will you surrender this week?
