Monday Motivation | What If You're Wrong About God?

Apr 6, 2026

What if the version of God you believe in isn't actually who God is? In this Monday Motivation, DJ explores how one misinterpreted moment can reshape your entire view of God — and how looking at Jesus changes everything.

This episode picks up where last week left off. When prayers go unanswered, when life doesn't go the way we expected, most of us don't just move on. We assign meaning. We decide God isn't listening, that He doesn't care, or that we're too far gone. And slowly, that decision starts to feel like reality. We pray less. We trust less. We pull back. Not because we set out to walk away from God, but because the picture we built of Him was never fully accurate.

DJ walks through how experiences, regret, and pain can quietly distort our understanding of who God actually is. Then he brings it back to one of the clearest statements in Scripture — John 14:9, where Jesus says, "Whoever has seen me has seen the Father." If you want to know what God is really like, look at Jesus. Not at your assumptions. Not at your worst moment. At Jesus.

What you see there is someone who moves toward people, not away from them. Someone who gives truth without crushing people. Someone whose compassion goes deeper than anything we've ever experienced. That's the real picture — and for many people, it doesn't match the version of God they've been carrying.

This video will challenge you to ask yourself: What do I actually believe about God? And more importantly, where did that belief come from? Because if the picture is off, everything built on it will be off too. But the moment that picture starts to shift, everything else moves with it.
