What is your mind on?
Are you self-aware? Let me ask a simple question and all I ask is that you’re honest with yourself. After all, it doesn’t matter what I think, what your parents think, what your friends think, and definitely doesn’t matter what “culture” thinks. What matters is what the Creator of the Universe, our God, says and commands.
So let me ask a question…and don’t get mad…don’t get shamed…simply be self-aware. What is the biggest influence in your life? Again, I’m asking that you are honest and self-aware. I do not necessarily know, your parents may not necessarily know…here’s the kicker…you may not necessarily know! So I’m asking, I’m pleading, be self-aware of what is influencing you, what is forming your world-view.
Do you spend time in bible study, together with believers and on your own? When questions form in your mind do you go to Truth or Google? Do you spend as much time in scripture as you do TikTok or other mindless, meaningless activities? These questions challenge me, and I’m sure they challenge you as well. So again, don’t blame me for asking, we need to be challenged, be self-aware, and if you need to make a change, challenge yourself.
There is a time to be born and a time to die…a time to keep, and a time to throw away. I’m asking as we start 2022, what do you know you need to throw away, to get out of your life…and what do you need to keep, to invest more time in?
4 Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice! 5 Let your gentle spirit be known to all people. The Lord is near. 6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and pleading with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. 7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.
8 Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, think about these things. Philippians 4:4-8
