Why do we Worship?

“Ascribe to the Lord the glory due to His name;
Worship the Lord in holy array.” ~ Psalms 29:2

If you google “why do we worship” you’ll get a smorgasbord of responses and be able to find exactly what you are looking for.

Afterall, in our culture today, it’s why we “Google”, search YouTube, or “church shop”. We want to find what WE are looking for...AND THAT’S THE PROBLEM.

Somewhere along the way in our culture, worship has become about what pleases me, what attracts me, & what I like. The question many ask today is not how do I please God, but what do I get out of worship? This mindset is troublesome and contradicts the humble, awe filled, spirit we should possess as we worship our Lord. This form of thinking extends beyond worship. It leads our lives down paths separate from truth...as if our whole life should be anything but praise and worship to God in everything that we do.

Whatever your career one day...worship God through it!
Whatever your interests or hobbies...worship God in using them for Him!
Whomever your friends and family are...worship God through serving & teaching them!
Wherever you find yourself...worship the Father in spirit & truth; for such people the Father seeks to be His worshipers” John 4:23

From the beginning with Eve, Satan has tried to convince others it’s all about them, he even tried to tempt Christ, and he tempts you and I today. He whispers life’s about our wants, our preferences, our desires, and he cracks our defenses wherever he sees an opening...even our worship to God.

Why do we worship? #StudyTheWord to grow your own understanding & develop your faith. The better your relationship with God the better you’ll understand what He wants, why He wants it, and how you can live your life for Him.

“Through Him (Christ) then, let us continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of lips that give thanks to His name.” Heb.13:15

“Now, therefore, fear the Lord and serve Him in sincerity and truth; and put away the gods which your fathers served beyond the River and in Egypt, and serve the Lord.

If it is disagreeable in your sight to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves today whom you will serve: whether the gods which your fathers served which were beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you are living; but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” Joshua 24:14-15
