Give Thanks with a Grateful Heart

If I had ________ then I’d be content, have it made, be oh so thankful. Really? Would you? Those who are addicted to “want” never get enough. The same is true for social media.

When I first got on Twitter, back in the olden days of 2007, I thought 100 followers would be great. Once I had 100 though, I immediately thought “1000, now that would be really great.” Bet you can guess what crossed my mind once I had 1K. Yep, you see when “wanting more” is your motivation, you’ll never have “enough”. It’s the same with likes, comments, money, & pretty much everything in this earthly life.

The key to contentment is not only being thankful for what you have, but understanding what you truly need. If you think you “NEED” likes, you will never get enough. If you think you “NEED” more money, you’ll never quench the desire for more.

God has given us an indescribable gift! (2 Corinthians 9:15) When we truly understand that fact. We realize, as did Paul, that we have the strength to be content in any and every situation. (Phil. 4:12-13).

Leading up to Thanksgiving day this week, read a chapter of Phillipians each day. Do you have what you need, truly need? Be self aware and realize how God has taken care of what you truly need, leaving you the ability to be content in any situation. #GloryToGod!!! Have a wonderful week and give thanks with a grateful heart.
