Always Be Ready
It is important to be ready when others ask questions, challenge your faith, or mock your beliefs. However, to “Always Be Ready” doesn’t always mean we defend...sometimes it means we counter by challenging someone or asking questions. of our own. In many cases a good question or direction to go answer their own question is the best defense.
Colossians 4:5 tells us as followers of Christ to “Conduct yourselves with wisdom toward outsiders, making the most of the opportunity.”
In “The Case for Christ movie”, we’ll be watching at the fALL Nighter Friday, the Tribune’s religion editor, Kenny London, wisely but boldly seized the chance to challenge Lee Strobel in ways he really needed it. As you’ll see in the movie, that challenge becomes a catalyst for a deep dive as Lee sets out to disprove the Bible, Christ, & God to his wife.
The applicable question is this...Who might God have put in your life with an opportunity to encourage, coach, or challenge in their walk toward him? Chances are no matter how much you want them to, they don’t relate well to being told what to believe (most of us don’t). Perhaps they need you to guide them down a path of self discovery through questions instead of answers. Have the courage to follow God’s promptings — there’s no telling how he might use you! #AlwaysBeReady #GloryToGod
